  I wish I could access the site for Opal aged Care at Berkeley Vale so I could write this on your page....People please research any care facilities you have to put a loved one into. Unfortunately my opa had to place oma into respite care in this facility and I need to say how disgusted I am in the facility. It used to take us at least 5 phone calls to get through to anyone during the week so I could speak to my oma, and as for the weekends, forget it. I could not get anyone to answer the phone or even return my calls. One Saturday I made 17 calls and left 4 messages for a callback, all at no avail. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING , especially when it is a persons only chance of communication. Some of the nursing staff were very abrupt also. Now I understand it can be a demanding job but the elderly (even the ones with dementia/alzheimers), still ought to be treated with respect and dignity. Now, my 89 year old oma also had a fall on Tuesday 13th of June but they thought she was okay and put her into bed. On Wednesday 14th of June My Aunty spoke to her and she was in a lot of pain. My mother in law rang her that same day and while she was chatting with oma, she fell onto the floor. My poor mother in law could hear my oma calling and begging for help. This was heartbreaking for her to hear. She was yelling down the phone line hoping someone would come, but they didn't. She had to hang up and call the facility back and tell admin to check on our oma. My oma, by this time, was on the floor unattended for at least 9 minutes and this is where they left her until the ambulance arrived. Then to top that all off, after we rang the facility to find out where oma had been transported to they didn't know...HELLO, SOME FAMILY MEMBERS WERE DRIVING FROM SYDNEY TO GO TO HER, DON'T YOU THINK COMMON DECENCY WOULD MAKE YOU FIND OUT WHERE SHE'S GOING SO THE FAMILY COULD BE NOTIFIED. Oma ended up in Wyong hospital and at least opa was able to go to her when she was brought in. OPAL CARE YOU SUCK BIG TIME AND I WOULDN'T EVEN ALLOW YOU TO TAKE CARE OF A GOLDFISH LET ALONE A BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING. I SO BELIEVE IN KARMA AND IT WILL GET ALL OF YOU. YOU ARE A DISGUSTING FACILITY AND OUGHT TO BE CLOSED DOWN... Looks can be deceiving, because your facility looked beautiful, such a shame that all the staff aren't...
